It is with deep regret that REMSCO acknowledges the passing of William (Bill) Lindsay,
the Presiding Officer of the Suffolk County Legislature.
To quote Newsday: "He should be remembered as a truly honorable man with a real grasp of the lives of everyday people, as a reasonable person in a too often unreasonable line of work: politics. His steady demeanor and core decency helped him to get things done."
Bill was a friend to both EMS and the Fire Service, and truly appreciated what we in EMS do every day. Bill went as far as doing ride-alongs with EMS services to better understand the nature of our work.
We will miss his friendship and counsel. Our condolences go out to his family and close friends.
Jay Gardiner, Chair
Suffolk Regional Emergency Medical Services Council
