On December 27, 2018, Bob Delagi and Karl Klug both retired from the Suffolk County Department of Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) after a combined 51 + years of service to the residents of Suffolk County. On that date, an open house and walk-out was given to thank both Karl and Bob for their hard work and dedicated service since 1997.
On January 18, 2019, a retirement party at Captain Bills Restaurant in Bay Shore was given in their honor; which was attended by close to 200 guests. Members from many Fire and EMS agencies as well as representatives from Suffolk County PD, Suffolk County Health Services, FRES, Suffolk REMSCO, New York State Bureau of EMS, Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter as well as many Fire and EMS organizations, family and friends of Bob and Karl were in attendance to wish them well on their retirement.
The evenings co-chairs, Ellen Komosinski and Patty Manfredonia, would like to extend our thanks to all who attended or gave towards Bob and Karl’s gifts. A special thank you to the Division of EMS staff for their assistance on a very special evening.
On October 25, 2018, the REMSCO held its Annual Awards Ceremony, hosted by the EMS Agency of the Year, the Greenlawn Fire Department.
At the July 10, 2018 REMSCO meeting, several departments were recognized for their efforts and were presented with the REMSCO CPR Save Award:
