Important Meeting Message for Agency Leadership
The Suffolk County Department of Health Services is diligently working with NY State Department of Health, hospitals, dispatch centers, law enforcement agencies and ambulance services to ensure continuity of information sharing and response objectives regarding the potential for a patient with Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), or close personal contacts of a person with EVD, to appear in Suffolk County. As leaders of our fire departments and ambulance services, we cordially invite you to attend an information session to provide overview of our planning efforts, and to discuss ambulance services responsibilities for compliance with the bloodborne pathogen standard, personal protection, medical waste management, reporting requirements, and decontamination. This is an informational session for agency leadership, additional education & training sessions for EMS providers focusing on disease recognition, transmission, and focused hands-on training on donning/doffing personal protective equipment are scheduled and will be announced under separate cover. No CME credit, this is a meeting for agency leadership only.
