SOUTHSIDE HOSPITAL THANKS EMS PROVIDERS DURING NATIONAL EMS WEEK 2017
Dear EMS providers,
As the 2017 EMS Week is upon us, we want to congratulate all the EMS providers for making the ultimate commitment to the selfless act of placing others before yourself. The willingness to wake up in the middle of the night, leave your home during a holiday dinner and deliver life saving measures are qualities that make each and every EMS provider special.
As EMS providers, you are the first ones to encounter confusing, dangerous, chaotic and serious situations. EMS personnel remain calm, collective and professional while providing lifesaving care all year round - ”Always in Service." The people you have contact with depend on you. Each and every one of you has touched so many people's lives.
Year to date there has been 6 EMS providers who have gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Only 46 miles away in the Bronx is where 14-year veteran of the FDNY EMT Yadira Arroyo who was 44 years old and a mother of 5 passed away in the line of duty. This tragedy so close to home. This reminds everyone of the dangers that EMS providers face every day. When you put the uniform on and step into the ambulance for the start of your shift, your focus is on saving lives. Let us never forget how you put others first.
For answering the call to serve, you are a hero in our communities. It’s a testament to your character that you go above and beyond your daily responsibility. Every day you are ready to respond to emergency calls throughout our community without thinking twice. We want to sincerely thank you for dedicating your life to such a vital profession, investing so much of your valuable time to training and without reservations risking your life for the betterment of others. For that, we are forever grateful. THANK YOU!
