The Chief of the Training and Education provides administrative support for the Basic/Advanced Life Support training curriculum. Additionally, all American Heart Association Community Training Center Programs (CPR, ACLS, PALS) are coordinated and monitored for course content and adherence to national standards. The Chief of Education and Training coordinates the contracts for and works closely with over two hundred per-diem Certified Lab Instructors and Course Instructor Coordinators for the New York State EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-CC and EMT-P course offerings sponsored through the Suffolk EMS Division. Additionally, the Chief of Training and Education coordinates all aspects of the clinical training program with all hospitals in the region, and works closely with the Medical Director in a Regional Quality Improvement Program. The Continuing Medical Education (CME) program requires constant monitoring and coordination of scheduling and course content by the Chief of Education and Training.  Utilizing a proactive approach to assess and anticipate additional training needs and programs, the Chief of Education and Training works with local REMSCO/REMAC authorities to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal statutes as leading-edge teaching methods and technology are employed throughout the programs offered.
